Everybody’s going wild for “Pants on the Ground.”
The newest “American Idol” and Internet buzz tune was created by “General” Larry Platt. The 63-year-old was auditioning in Atlanta for “AI” when he decided to perform his original rap tune “Pants on the Ground.” The term refers to people who wear their pants drooping down to the floor.
Simon Cowell said he wouldn’t be surprised if the song became a hit — and now Platt’s getting invited to talk and radio shows. He’s even planning to record the quirky number.
Wait it gets better.
Last week, late night talk show host Jimmy Fallon dressed up as Neil Young, and doing his best impersonation, he performed the rap song as an acoustic ballad – imitating Young’s voice and musical stylings to perfection.
Don’t be left out of the loop — check out my Reality Bytes column on-line and see both Platt’s and Fallon’s performance. This tune isn’t going away, so get on board the “Pants on the Ground” train. http://www.coloradodaily.com/people/ci_14212139
