Denver’s Matt Morris is having one career coup after another.

The local performer’s already played on David Letterman and Ellen DeGeneres’ talk programs to show off his new tunes.

Things are getting even better for Morris.

Tonight, Morris will team up with Justin Timberlake to perform the song “Hallelujah” at the Hope For Haiti global telethon. That means that people all over the world will get to see Denver’s next up-and-coming act. Back in the day, Morris and Timberlake used to perform on the Mickey Mouse Club — now look where they are!

The telethon is slated to air tonight at 8 p.m. ET/PT and 7 p.m. CT on pretty much every TV channel.

Saturday Update:

Timberlake and Morris played a stunning verison of the Leonard Cohen classic “Hallelujah.”

The tune was made popular by the late Jeff Buckley in the 90′s, but Timberlake and Morris performed this hauntingly beautiful version of the song that took the tune up a notch at last night’s telethon.

Word is spreading like crazy over the Internet about the performance, so here’s a link where you can check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxOWHu6Oyt8

Yep, Morris definitely put his career and Denver on the map last night.
