Bono and the Edge go Broadway!
It was only a matter of time before U2 hit the Broadway stage.
It was just announced that Bono and The Edge have been secretly working on the music and lyrics for the Broadway production “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.”
Why the dynamic duo picked Spidey for a first foray into Broadway is still a mystery — maybe it had something to do with the show’s 31 million dollar budget. Plus, the Spider-Man musical’s being directed by Julie Taymor — as in “Across the Universe” and “Lion King.”
Bono and The Edge’s new music makes its NYC debut in “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” on Feb. 18, 2010.
