The John Butler Trio rocked the Fox last night and proved why this act is such a global phenomenon.
Butler looked like he felt at home on the Fox stage as he bantered with the audiences, and his band easily jumped from rock, to jammier to acoustic numbers. The group pulled off old and new tunes to perfection and the sold out crowd was happy to groove along with the songs.
Butler’s matured as a performer and a songwriter, and the latest edition of the trio really brought out all the textures of the tunes.
As a special perk, Butler had a special announcement for his Colorado fans. Near the end of the show, the Aussie bandleader announced that the John Butler Trio will headline Red Rocks on June 4.
Wait, it gets better.
Medeski Martin and Wood — and State Radio — will be opening the Red Rocks party.
Tickets go on sale Feb, 27. Stay tuned at www.johnbutlertrio.com
