Dr. Dog puts on an amazing show at Boulder's Fox Theatre

Dr. Dog delivered the goods at Boulder’s Fox Theatre last night.

The up-and-coming Philly band is making a national name for itself and Sunday’s Colorado show proved why this is a band with a buzz.

Dr. Dog had every detail of the show under control –from the tree foliage and backdrop on the stage to the way it paced out its show.

This band knows a thing or two about fusing musical genres, and Dr. Dog managed to combine a very cool combination of rock and acoustic numbers into their set. When this band rocked, it captured every nuance of its musical flavors  — and when the group performed acoustic numbers, the ballads showed off Dr. Dog’s knack for penning honest and emotive lyrics.

For those of you who are Dr. Dog novices — Sunday’s show had all the acoustic rock elements of vintage acts like The Band  — and all the full, symphonic elements of bands like The Beatles and Polyphonic Spree.

Dr. Dog expertly knows how to blend old and new school sounds and it works for this very talented band.

Rock with roots is selling out shows in Boulder, so it was no surprise that Dr. Dog sold out the Fox.
