The Fray's heading on the road -- wait, no Denver date announced.

The Fray made an appearance on the “Tonight Show” last night to kick off its spring/summer tour of shows. The Colorado band boldly went up against U2. The Irish rockers were  playing at the same time on Letterman’s late night show.

The Fray starts its  tour March 17 in Perth, Australia and hits the states  in June- July.

Once again, Denver got left off a national band tour schedule. The Fray does have Sunday, July 19 open — one of  the dates of the Mile High Music Festival. Does that mean the Denver band will leave nearby Salt Lake City after a July 18 show and play the Denver music fest? Stay tuned.

Regardless, The Fray is giving its fans a special deal for all its tour dates. Sign up on The Fray’s e-mail list and you can get in on a special pre-sale of tickets on Friday, May 6. Go to www.thefray.net for the details.

Meanwhile, Colorado’s Yonder Mountain String Band was asked to be part of the annual All Good Music Festival. This year’s fest takes place July 10-12 at Marvin’s Mountaintop in Masontown, WV.

This year’s All Good Festival includes sets by Ben Harper, Bob Weir, moe., STS9, Les Claypool, Bassnectar — and Yonder Mountain. Go to www.allgoodfestival.com.
