The economy went down in 2009, but that didn't stop promoters from bringing some of the best concerts of the year to Boulder.
Boulder was a microcosm of the national music scene in 2009, so electro, rap and indie music ruled the scene. The Fox and Boulder theaters, the late, great b.side Lounge and the CU campus all got [+]

Although Long's shaggy hair kept masking his face, the artist didn't seem to mind as he plowed into a [+]

Boulder is famous for its Halloween weekend concerts and costume parties, and this year the holiday shows ran from Thursday through Saturday.
The local venues didn't go all out with Halloween decorations, but they did treat locals to some very interesting shows.

The minute rapper Coolio finished his set at The Goose, the crowd made a stampede for the door.
It was too late.
Word had already spread throughout the Hill and downtown about Coolio's really late, short and unbelievably sound-challenged set.
