Stephen Malkmus and his band Pavement are resurrecting themselves to play a reunion tour -- and Colorado's on the select list of U.S. tour dates.
It's been awhile since the indie rock band hit the road, so this will be a very special concert for Broomfield's 1stBank Center.
Pavement is slated to play the Colorado venue on Sept. 9. [+]

The Boulder music scene may be going through a major change this spring.
Today, word broke that the Boulder Theater and the Fox Theatre are looking to join forces. The move would combine the forces of Boulder's top two venues and forge them into one powerhouse entertainment entity.

Colorado's 3OH!3 was made for the world of music videos.
The local electro duo has shown up at MTV award shows, had Katy Perry appear in their "Starstrukk" video -- and now the 3OH!3 guys are an integral part of Ke$ha's new video for "Blah Blah Blah."
3OH!3 contributed to the tune's vocals, so it's no surprise that the guys were asked to play some pivotal scenes [+]

U2 just announced the opening acts for its summer tour -- and it's going to be Lenny Kravitz, The Fray and Interpol.
Kravitz will be playing a large chunk of the tour -- including U2's June 12 show at Invesco Field.
Colorado homeboys The Fray will play three shows on the tour. The local band will open U2 shows in Oakland, Seattle and Edmonton, Canada.

The Sasquatch festival has a monster line-up this year!
The annual alternative music festival takes place in Quincy, Washington at the Gorge Ampitheatre , and this year's fest runs May 29-31.

Nobody does holiday shows better than DeVotchKa.
The Colorado band was in prime form for last night's Valentine's Day show at the Fox Theatre. The show was sold out, and packed with singles and couples that needed their DeVotchKa fix for the romantic holiday.

Yes, it's true.
Tickets to all three String Cheese Incident shows at Red Rocks sold out in record time. The concerts are set to run July 23-25.
There had been some pre-sales on the SCI website earlier this week, but a good chunk of the tickets went on sale this morning.
They were gone in a flash.
