Five For Fighting plays special lunchtime show at the Triple A conference

Thursday afternoon 8/6

You never know what musical surprises you’ll encounter at  Triple A radio conference.

I was heading over to the the lunch tent, when I heard these amazing vocals coming from that direction. I walked in to see John Ondrasik — AKA Five For Fighting playing several of his new songs for the conference crowd.

If you recall, Five For Fighting is the national act that had the hit tune “Superman.” Ondrasik was propelled into instant stardom when his song was used post 9/11.

Ondrasik played new songs from upcoming CD “Slice” for the Triple A crowd. If these songs are any indication, Five For Fighting will be hitting the record charts once again. No doubt, Ondrasik has an amazing voice and pens very emotive tunes.

I also had the chance to see the newest act off of Jack Johnson’s Brush Fire record label.

Zee Avi plays an old-timey, jazzy brand of acoustic folk. While it’s not my cup of tea — she might appeal to Boulder audiences.
