Muse will not play tonight's show in Broomfield -- new date set for Oct. 2 at the Pepsi Center

Breaking news: Minutes ago, Muse  postponed tonight’s sold-out show at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield.

The promoters at AEG said it was due to snow in Vail, and the band twittered that its busses and trucks were stuck in the snow.

Now, the show’s been moved to an Oct. 2 date at the much bigger Pepsi Center.  The promoters should be happy with that– fans who were looking forward to a more intimate concert experience at the 1St Bank Center may not be that thrilled.

Apparently, if you have a ticket to tonight’s show, you’ll have first dibs at exchanging tix to the Pepsi Center on April 14.  No word on when regular tix will go on sale.

Stay tuned.

Hey Dave- thanks for a hard hittnig post about the shenanigans down here in Central AZ. My overall impression of the political culture here is that dust ups like that between Arpaio and NT are par for the course. (had to work in a golf metaphor; 250 golf courses in the Phoenix Metro area after all )It’s not on the same level but I couldn’t help noticing ASU Prez Michael Crowe and Gov. Napolitano attending the grand opening of the Latter Day Saints Student Union building or whatever it’s called, built on formerly ASU land just next to campus. Icky! But hey, Mormons are *rich* after all. Anyway there’s a distinct lack of something like *class* down here, as in basic social/political intelligence. The cop who flipped off the immigrant’s rights protesters while driving by in his cruiser, not once, but twice. The cop who killed his police dog by forgetting the dog was in his cruiser in 115 degree heat. The 80 s disco nightclub in Scottsdale that is being sued by the ACLU for not letting a transgendered male use the ladies’ room. The New Times advert for circulation drivers featuring a babe with ginormous breasts in a revealing shiny leather top that says seen any good racks lately? The NT Best Of issue cover art featuring a bikini clad plastic surgery bimbo with more makeup than Herman Munster. It’s not edgy or challenging, overall, it’s just stupid. As in plain old dumb. Maybe it’s some sort of Wild West adolescent psuedo-Libertarian fantasy, equal parts Ayn Rand and misconstrued Hunter S Thompson with a little bit of a bad imitation of Beavis and Butthead thrown in?PB
