The Decemberists are always pushing the envelope with their blend of alt-folk and modern rock sounds.
The band really went for a new direction on its latest CD, “The Hazards of Love.” Colin Meloy and the group fused British folk tales with heavy rock sounds to produce one of the most original records of the year.
The Decemberists hit Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium on May 26, but here’s my interview with Meloy that ran in the Colorado Daily:
